1. Eve: the first great woman of the Bible
Eve is the first woman in the Bible and she came out of Adams’ left rib. Although she gave in to the devils’ temptation in the Garden of Eden, she’s an influential woman in the Bible and her life is a great lesson to both men and women. She is the mother of all mankind and it goes without saying that she is a great woman of the Bible.
2. Sarah
The wife to Abraham and the mother of Isaac. Sarah was barren for many years and gave birth to Isaac at 90 years old. Despite being barren, she loved her husband dearly, calling him my Lord, and begged Abraham to lie with her maidservant just to see him happy with a child. God remembered His promise to her and granted her a son, Isaac. Sarah is a woman of great faith and reverence for both God and her husband. Very few women in this generation can call their husbands “my lord”. Lol.
3. Rachel
Rachel’s love for Jacob gave her the patience to wait for her husband who was deceived by her father. Laban tricked Jacob into marrying her elder sister, Lear. Later on in her marriage, she bore Jacob Joseph and Benjamin.

4. Hannah
She prayed fervently and desperately for a son. She made a vow to God that if He gives her a son, she would dedicate his life to God. Because of her faith, God granted her desire and she faithfully kept her word. She didn’t forget her vow to the Lord and left Samuel to be raised in the temple.
5. Rahab: she’s among the great women of the Bible due to her faith in God.
Rahab is mentioned in the book of Joshua. She put her life in danger she provided them shelter to the two spies sent by Joshua to Jericho. The people of Jericho wanted to kill the spies but she hid them in her house. Through her faith, she believed that the God of Israel will give them victory over Jericho, and thus, God protected her and her family.

6. Mary of Nazareth
The woman with the high calling of carrying the Savior of the world in her womb for nine years was Mary of Nazareth, the wife of Joseph. Being a teen and a virgin, she found favor with God and her life teaches us that purity is highly adored by God. God is pure and so the pure in heart can be mighty vessels for His eternal purpose.
7. Mary Magdalene
Mary was healed by the Lord Jesus and became a faithful follower of Christ until the end. She was there during Christ’s ministry on earth, His crucifixion, burial, and also during the resurrection.
8. Mary of Bethany
She was the sister of Lazarus and Martha. She loved Jesus and listened faithfully to His teachings by sitting at His feet instead of being swayed by the housework and other duties.
9. Martha
The sister to Lazarus and Mary. She loved Jesus Christ and believed in the resurrection of the righteous. She was rebuked by Jesus for putting her hosting duties above the teachings of Christ. However, she was devoted to Christ and served faithfully.
10. Deborah
The only female judge mentioned in the Bible who is known for being a truly compassionate leader.
11. Esther
Queen Esther’s story is one portraying the greatest courage and bravery ever shown by a woman in the Bible. Through her prayer and fasting, God gave her favor which in turn delivered the people of Israel from the sword.
12. Jehosheba
She was the daughter of king Joram. She bravely saved her infant nephew, the prince Joash, from being killed by the Queen Mother. By doing this, God used her to preserve the line of King David.
13. Miriam
She was a prophetess and a sister to Moses. She helped save Moses when her mother put him in a basket and placed her in a river for fear of Pharaoh. Later on in her life, she served as a prophetess of God.
14. Elizabeth
She was barren but by her faith and patience in God, she conceived and gave birth to John the Baptist, the greatest prophet of the New Testament.
